I thought we were making great progress on our grade one spelling tests, but before heading out the door, Hanna read one of the headlines on the news and shouted it with laughter, “School day for cats!” and I turned to look at the t.v. and a giggling Hanna, expecting to find a graphic of a kitten with a small, glowing sun icon flashing in the background while it licked its paws or, pooped in our yard, an exercise that all cats seem to enjoy.  The headline was not in fact “School day for cats!” but rather, the school day forecast. We’ll have to add dyslexia to our list of things to work on.
