Don’t Lick The Fountain…

That makes two posts in a week I’ve had to shout from the roof tops to children everywhere not to lick the public amenities.

Last week it was bones covered in dirt, this week, a water fountain at a local theatre.

A boy in grade one lined up behind a few kids to get a drink of water and when his turn arrived he went to town on the nozzle. The spout was so far down his throat, when he pressed the button to spray the water, the gag reflex in his appendix shot him backward….not far enough to dislodge the faucet still being gripped in his teeth.

I suggested that he take a step back. It took everything in me not to break the “we don’t touch the kids anymore” rule watching him nearly get his tongue sucked into the drain.

His teacher told me he had just finished his third batch of meds for strep throat.

Proceed.
