Scrub-a-dub-dub….

I wonder if I wrote the way my kids spoke if it would make any sense at all.

Me: Tell me all about your day Ellie.

“Mom, you know how moles start small and flat when you’re little and then they’re big and wide and puffy and hairy when you’re old?”

Well, I don’t know if every mole…..

“Mom, what’s the password?”

Um, is it…..

“Scrub-a-dub-dub.”

I had my first appointment with our new family Doctor today (scrub-a-dub-dub) after having my bl@@dwork done a couple of weeks ago.
I had never really combed through results with a Doctor before, (scrub-a-dub-dub) but I was curious to see what the numbers meant (heavily influenced by my Mother “encouraging” me to “Have her go over your results so you know what they mean.”) Also, it made me feel like an adult and I had already been given some make-up samples from a friend so I was all kinds of grown-up today.

Before today, I would just listen to the medical staff say, “Has your blood pressure always been low?” and when I came to, I would crawl back onto the chair, nod in the general direction of the person talking to me and hope my eyes would start to process colours again soon.

Good news! (scrub-a-dub-dub) my levels are all normal. Even my LDL, HDL, ABC’s, M&M’s.

I can’t say I knew what any of it meant then or now even with a copy that I insisted she print for my take-home binder. (I can’t wait to make a title page for my Bl##dwork results. It might be tricky since I can’t even write the word without wanting to pass out).

The only “problem” area is my iron. According to the Doctor, “It’s not a disaster.”

Not a disaster? Has Christmas come early?

“You are not anemic.”

That is a relief because I love to eat.

I started to feel faint again and totally blamed it on the non-disastrous iron levels.

I’ll comment more on this at a later date. Right now, I’m very, very tired and it’s tough to type while drinking a liver and prune shake through a spinach straw.
