Birthdays….

My kids have been talking for the past couple of weeks about how they want to celebrate Greg’s birthday.

Every morning, one of them says, “Mommy, you have to take us shopping for Dad’s birthday.”

Hanna has been talking about wanting to buy him a hockey jersey. She has asked me twice what team he hates most and thinks it would be hilarious to buy him a shirt with that team’s logo. Hilarious or total waste of money, I guess that’s for the birthday police to decide.

Chloe wants to buy him some Polly Pockets so she can play with them in her dollhouse. Translation: Chloe would like some more dolls to play with in her dollhouse and will leave no stone unturned to make that dream a reality.

Ellie told me today she has the perfect gift and needs me to take her to the perfect, top-secret store to buy her present for her Dad.

She finally decided she would bring me in on her secret plan.

“Mommy, I’m going to buy him a Yoda doll. You know, from Star Wars? Because that’s the first movie he ever watched.”

Chloe said, “Great idea Ellie. Your doll can play with mine.”
