Mom Jeans Forever….

Rumour has it, an article came out this week suggesting women need not leave their houses in yoga pants (unless they are en route to the gym) nor should they pick up their kids wearing jeans.

I would have read the article in its entirety if I wasn’t pressing my yoga pants and tapering my jeans around the ankles to be ready for the end of school day pick-up. Sometimes I like to double up just to be sure everyone knows I am fully committed to this pro-comfort wardrobe, not unlike when my kids layer vest upon vest upon vest.

Why is it when kids dress this way, we honour their choice to be independent, not to mention giving kudos for being comfortable.

Ladies, we need to be more tolerant of each other’s wardrobes and extend the same pleasantries we would to say a child with no outside voice shunning them for wearing what I can only assume puts a bounce in their step.

We’re not perfect but we’re not unhygienic if we leave the house feeling comfortable.

Let’s all agree, we will do our best to impress other women with our clothing alone at the following events:

Celebrity Auctions

Museum openings

Magazine/book launches

Dinners to benefit the hungry, the  poor and the yoga-deprived

Boxing Matches (why are they always so fancy?)

Television/Publicity Stints

Justin Bieber Parades

For all other outings including; grocery shopping, going to the gym, picking up mail, picking up dog feces, picking up kids from school–comfort trumps style.
