Mommy Said….

I said, “Goodnight girls. Sweet Dreams.”

They heard, “Pour your two year old sister a glass of water without a lid and have her spill it over her covers.”

I said, “Hanna keep the Band-Aid on your big toe so you don’t get anything on your new comforter cover.”

She heard, “Jump on your bed narrowly missing your chandelier with your head and lose the Band-Aid within seconds of putting it on.”

I said, “I am afraid of bats.”

Ellie heard, “Let’s make a whole bunch of black construction paper bats and hang them all over the house for Halloween so when Mommy forgets they’re made of paper, her heart will stop and it will be hilarious.”

I said, “I wonder if we’ll lose power tonight during the storm.”

They heard, “Start crying and begging to sleep in the basement doorframe and get Chloe more water! Lots and lots of water.”

I said, “Goodnight again girls!”

They heard, “Keep jumping, lose another round of Band-Aids, play Captain Spilly and plot a few more bat attacks.”

I concede.
