Teenagers….

On our way to swimming lessons last night, Hanna told me about a group of girls at her school that don’t play.

Hmmm. What do you mean they don’t play? They can’t play? They don’t know how? They are waiting to be invited into a game?

Hanna: No, they’re teenagers and teenagers don’t play. They just talk. That’s it—talk. They don’t DO anything. They talk and they giggle all the time, that’s it. Boring. I never want to be a teenager and if I am (I love the “if) I’m never going to just stand around and talk and giggle. I’m going to do stuff and play.

Remind me again why I’m documenting all of this?

On an unrelated but totally noteworthy subject, our kids coined a brand new word last night that is about to go viral.

When they hopped into the tub, cold from the outside air but excitedly anticipating the hot water, they both shivered. One of them said, “I love the warm shiver right when you get into the bath.”

The warm shiver will hereafter be known as the “wiver.” (That’s right spellcheck—wiver is not a word. At least, not yet)
