Every Mom I’ve run into this summer has had the same two realizations; 1) This has been a crazy summer weatherly speaking and 2) Their kids act like gems in the company of other children but fight like mad when it’s just the family.

My meteorological assessment and my kid’s behaviour are about the same.

Cloudy with a chance of tantrum.

Is it because now that school is out, they’re spending more time together than they’re used to? If that were true, I would recall a disproportionate amount of bickering prior to the school years and I’m not recalling it that way though, that might have been right around the time I discovered ruby red vodka.

I guess the good news is, if the kids are able to turn off the fighting when play dates enter the mix, technically speaking, they can’t be sociopaths because sociopaths would continue with their destructive behaviour, unable to see the difference between right and wrong.

So on this rainy, cold, humid, hot, summer tornado of emotions, rest assured your kids are not sociopaths.

It’s the weather.
