The Beach….

Yesterday, our family headed to the beach so our seven and nine year old daughters could compete in a Provincial Junior Life Saving competition.

On the way to the event, the girls were nervous which they demonstrated by staring quietly out the windows, rocking back and forth in their seats and saying things like, “I’m so nervous!”

Greg and I talked to them about how trying new things can be scary but so much fun and they might have the best day they’ve ever had.

Before we got out of the car to embark on what turned out to be an absolutely amazing adventure, Greg and I told the girls the most important things to focus on were 1) To try their best and 2) To have fun.

Chloe, our three year old, caught bits and pieces of the conversation and added her own piece of important advice over and above “try your best and have fun.”

She said, “And don’t eat any rocks.”

Check.
