I cleaned my kitchen grout today for the first time in nine years.

So if you’re feeling distraught because you haven’t cleaned your grout in ten years you should be totally ashamed and embarrassed. Nine years is the absolute deal-breaker cut-off. I made it just under the wire….

Things I found! So scrubbing nine years worth of layered on dirt, you’re bound to find a few treasures, otherwise, why bother? I found a missing earring, my University student card and almost all of my missing socks, embedded right under nearly a decade’s worth of solidified muck.

The original colour of the grout was sandstone. Before yesterday, I would describe the colour as chocolate milkshake or cocoa mudslide. I would say it is now back to sandstone or dare I say it, heavenstone.

I walked on the treadmill first (cinnamon bun in one hand, tv remote in the other) Just an aside but there was a commercial on CNN for eharmony where a VERY young kid is talking to her Grandpa about the amazing dating results of eharmony versus other adult dating sites. Really eharmony? Really CNN? Really kids?

The treadmill was to warm me up for the grout cleaning but I quickly discovered there was no need. Grout steaming is a full-body work-out soon to be added to the trendy work-outs of 2014 next to; Zumba, spinning, hot yoga, grout cleaning.
