The other day, my seven year old and I were doing one of the things we do best. Visiting every public restroom within 100 miles of where we are.

This time, after using the facilities, Ellie washed her hands, looked around and called to me from outside the stall, “Mommy, do you have $.50?” I told her I never carry any cash with me (standard answer works on both kids and muggers).

Me: Why do you need it Ellie?

Ellie: Because the paper towels cost $.50!!! I guess I’ll just let them air dry.
