I was playing “Concentration” with my 8 year old.

It’s not a board game but rather a chanting, hand-clapping, sing-along game that goes something like this,

“Let’s play (tap tap tap) Concentration (tap tap tap) No repeats (tap tap tap) or hesitations (tap tap tap) Category is….”

The category with my kids is always “Everything” so you simply have to alternate saying any word that comes to mind and the first person to stumble, ruining the hand clapping pattern and/or falls asleep, loses.

Last night, I was not very creative, when it came to my turn I was saying words like; chin, picture, hair (anything within my direct eye line).

It was only later when the repetition of that contagious game played over again in my head.

When it was Ellie’s turn she said, “acne, zits, pimples, blemish, rash.”

I’m hoping that’s not what was in her direct eye line.
