Midnight Walker….

Ellie, our 8 year old has been known to talk in her sleep.

Last night, she had more of a lengthy monologue which erupted into an argument with someone she was dreaming about. The person on the receiving end of her tongue lashing would not have enjoyed hearing what she had to say and at 1:30am, I could have done without it too.

Ellie’s Rainbow Loom charms are becoming a Christmas tradition around our home but they seem to be adding some unnecessary stress to our lives.

Our Christmas is an all inclusive one. We decorate with a crocheted Nativity Scene that includes baby Jesus, Mary Poppins a duck and a chick. We eat our Advent Calendar (with the theme from the movie Frozen) chocolate after breakfast followed by the hanging of a Rainbow Loom charm on our tree. Bless it.

Ellie was dreaming someone was stealing her Rainbow Loom charms last night and she was shouting so much she jumped up out of bed and was sort of hanging around the hallway wondering how she should proceed.

She seemed so sure of her whereabouts through the Christmas tree shadows, almost as though I had stumbled upon a planned gang meeting where the currency was Rainbow Loom charms.

She stormed past me and marched to the opposite end of the house, used the bathroom, came out and looked at me confused.

I asked her what she was doing and she said, “I came down here because I didn’t want to wake anyone up.”

Fail.

The only saving grace is the most recent charm happens to be a Starbucks mocha frappe. I’m probably going to need it today.
