Look At Chloe Go!…

I had planned to write about swimming and skating and shoveling yesterday but that was all trumped by last night’s bedtime routine and also, I’m exhausted just reading that back.

Chloe asked me if she could read “The Balloon Tree” to me and by “read” she meant, could she climb around with as many interruptions as humanly possible while I read to her but by proposing that she read to me, she upped her chances of staying up by at least 15 minutes.

We started off with the best of intentions but Chloe really didn’t want me to read, she wanted to read the book to me and have me sound out each word out with her.

It was 8pm and I knew we didn’t have twelve hours to sound out each and every word of The Balloon Tree, not to mention the actions, the dances, the costume changes, two intermissions, so I suggested a new book with just one caveat—fewer words per page. Mother. Of. The. Year.

I chose a book from the back of the bookshelf that to my knowledge, Chloe and I hadn’t read together before. Then again, I did toboggan without a helmet as a kid so my short term memory isn’t that sharp. Now where was I again?

We worked our way through Lisa’s various activities from skateboarding to riding a scooter to swimming with a friend.

It was on the very last page that Chloe stared at the words, all of which had been repeated throughout this cliff-hanger of a text.

She pointed at the words one-by-one and said (slowly, but for the purposes of this post pretend she said it without pause) “Look at Lisa go!”

Now how can we monetize this asset?
