Snow Pants Aren’t Pretty….

Chloe told me on the way home from school that you can’t be pretty in snow pants.

I told her the clothes you wear have nothing to do with being pretty. Real beauty comes from within which is why I see no issues in buying my clothes from the same place I buy my groceries or wearing pajamas to a wedding (as long as they don’t have any obvious holes).

She said, “You can only be pretty in a dress and sparkly shoes.”

“That’s not true. I feel pretty and I’m wearing jeans, hip waders and a bee keeper’s mask.”

Well you are not pretty.

“Oh sure I am” and then I glanced in the rear view mirror. The one day I forget to run a comb through this nest. Ah the lies we tell our children.

“Being pretty is about how you feel, how you treat people, what’s in your heart and how big you smile.”

“Your heart is not pretty. Your heart is gross.”

(Caught on a technicality) “Your heart is what makes you beautiful.”

“Your heart is disgusting and covered in blood.”

Passing out but trying to smile.

“I was just trying to say that snow pants can’t be pretty.”

I might just have to cave on this one.
