One On One….

I took our seven year old to music class and a lunch date today, just the two of us. I decided we hadn’t been spending enough time together and felt she was being deprived of an opportunity to own Mommy’s ear for an hour or two.

We arrived at her restaurant of choice and discussed all things grade two and I had worried with the baby’s arrival, a full schedule at school, swimming lessons, skating lessons, music lessons and life in general, we would struggle to re-connect in that special mother-daughter way we had put on hold the past few months.

After finishing the kid’s crossword, working on the dot-to-dot and colouring a few random pieces, she asked me something all mothers look forward to hearing.

“Mommy, how’s your psoriasis?”
