Bedtime Blunders….

Last night we switched things around at bedtime.

Greg took Chloe and read her a few stories while rocking in her chair and I listened first on Hanna’s bed to one chapter of Ivy & Bean and the great Fossil something or other. It was surprisingly difficult to understand given the large wad of tissue Hanna was chewing following a baby monkey-esque attempt at hugging my leg as her mode of transportation to her bedroom. After an unfortunate bounce, she managed to bite her tongue and draw blood.

I then switched beds over to Ellie’s to listen to two shorter books of her choosing.

The first was Lilly’s Chocolate Heart.

I stopped her after she opened the book quickly without reading the title. How will I ever know what this book with a cartoon mouse eating a heart shaped candy (that I’ve committed to memory) is about if she doesn’t read me the title?

Ellie: Oh, tonight since we’re doing things differently, I thought I would read it to you in my head and then you could read my mind.
