Missing The Kids….

I can’t be the only one who feels this way. You leave the kids with babysitters for a weekend and you feel like it’s been a month since you’ve seen them.

All of the hairy, day-to-day dramas that seem monumental at the time, in retrospect can conjure up a smile or even a good giggle, provided you are miles and miles away with an ice cold Corona in one hand and shark repellent in the other.

I really missed being away from the kids even though it was just a few days.

It was especially nice to be greeted at the door with smiling faces and lots of hugs.

I’ll always remember the first thing Hanna said to me, “Mom, remember on the phone you said you bought us some clothes? Where are they?”

Ellie: Hi Mom! Hi Dad! I missed you guys! Did you get me into the singing and dancing and performing club?

Chloe after trying on a new shirt purchased while on vacation: Do you think I’m a pirate or something?

I missed the meals Chloe and I had together when her sisters were at school and it was just the two of us looking out the window at lunch time. Today was no exception.

Me: Remember to eat your avocado and your carrots honey.

Chloe: I’d rather eat bird poop.

It’s good to be home.
