I really wanted to drop in to a HomeSense store yesterday when I was out. I had an errand to run that had me parked almost close enough to taste the savings.

I could see a huge basket of pillows for sale outside, HOW MUCH ARE THEY? I had to know.

I had to broach the subject with my two year old delicately and tell her we were going to make one more, quick stop in just the right way.

I explained we were going to check out this cool toy store (okay, I know that’s a huge lie but they do have a very small display of children’s pillows/blankets and sometimes a toy or two).

She unbuckled quickly at the thought of running up and down aisle after aisle of baby dolls, Lego blocks, board books while high fiving a life sized Elmo.

We walked in the front door where she scanned the display in front of her and yelled, “THIS IS A STORE FOR LAMPS!”

“SURPRISE!”

And that was the end of that.
