I’m Going Timber….

There’s nothing sweeter than listening to kids singing.

The past few car rides when I’ve had a group of kids, they, for the most part stick to their gaming devices, looking up only to see if the kid face-timing them looks the same on screen as they do two seats ahead of them in the van.

Recently, something magical happened. The kids put away their devices, boys and girls alike all seemed to not only know the lyrics to a popular song playing on the radio but they were smiling and singing along.

At one point, I think they were harmonizing but I can’t be sure because I’m probably tone deaf. For purposes of this story, they were and it was wonderful. They were laughing and they were happy. They were the finest mini-van choir I’ve ever had the privilege to tap my toes to/drive.

Here’s a snippet from Kesha’s “Timber”

Swing your partner round and round
End of the night, it’s going down
One more shot, another round
End of the night, it’s going down
Swing your partner round and round
End of the night, it’s going down
One more shot, another round
End of the night, it’s going down

Huh
