We work hard to protect our kids from the elements, from bugs, rain, sleet and snow.
I lather my kids in sunscreen before heading outside for a day of activities in the sun.
I spray them with bug repellent to keep mosquitoes from attacking.
I cover their faces, necks, hands, heads with scarves, mitts, hats and helmets all in the name of keeping them safe.
But I thought nothing of letting my husband buy “liquid solar blanket” to pour into our swimming pool so we could keep the temperature from dipping a degree or two overnight.
