I finished staining the paper for my project using a used tea bag, careful to smear it around just so, to make it represent the period as authentically as all of the other students in the class. I also tore the edges, leaving no stone unturned.

I am trying to source some fur and/or faux beaver pelts to display and will bake the soda crackers or “hardtack” as they were known to serve to the class for bonus points. I learned about his eating habits while doing my research about Henry Hudson’s journey to Canada.

I think my daughter is going to do well in grade 5.
